Official 2.49.5 (-Candidates?)

In the ftp download area we now have official SeaMonkey 2.49.5 – Versions, currently for  linux-i686/, linux-x86_64/, mac/ and in folder unsigned/ for WINDOWS. In  source/ I only see a checksums file.

That’s all I know, (not much) more information in the Project-Blog.

Latest Unofficial SeaMonkey 2.53 by user wg9s

User wg9s offers several current SeaMonkey builds from latest Source:  SeaMonkey 2.49  | SeaMonkey 2.53  | SeaMonkey 2.57 | SeaMonkey trunk, all for WINDOWS and Linux. Not only because of this message

today I switched from Build 20190329130005 to latest available Server Installation of unofficial (by wg9s) en-US SeaMonkey 2.53 (NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0 Build 20190122130014 (Default Classic Theme, German Language Pack active) on German WIN7 64bit. And the first thing I saw was that message again. Strange! AFAIR I only see that on my Browser Home Page, but I am not sure.

I will ask at mozilla.support.seamonkey.

for me suffers from this Chatzilla problem (related to User Profile).

I am currently doing some tests with unzipped installer of unofficial (by wg9s) en-US SeaMonkey 2.53 (NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0 Build 20180902143701 (Default Classic Theme, German Language Pack active) on German WIN7 64bit.

Some first results:

Works / works not

  • ✅ Browser
    • ✅ History
    • ✅ Bookmarks
    • ✅ JavaScript
  • ✅ chatzilla
  • ✅ composer
  • ✅ Download manager
    • ⚠ but all existing entries have become lost with my switch to current SeaMonkey 2.53
  • ✅ e-mail client
  • Add-Ons
    • ⚠ German Language pack from Summer 2017: becomes disabled by add-ons-manager. Any known Workaround?
    • ⚠ Add-On Go Parent Folder 2.9.1.1 signed.1-signed (April 2016) does no longer work, entry is missing in Context menu for Sidebar, Bookmarks Panel
